Talking To The Taxman About Poetry. Great album that just reaching it’s 25th anniversary with a XFM show at 10pm on this Sunday. One of my highlights last year when I was caught up in my own little Braggmania was finding this in Oxfam on Vinyl, and later getting the first and second to complete his holy trinity. These three are all great and evolving and show his genius as a songwriter of truly real romantic passion to the next minute flip to smart thinking political songs that can rip right though you. By the time of this album even there was hints before, this was where he really started to push out the limits of his trademark one man his guitar, with tasteful overdubs, and other instruments to open out his sound. Although later he continued to expand on this, even incorporating a full band, he got it bang on here.. so enough talk here is the A side of that single Levi Stubbs Tears.
